Hi! I’m Aloe, a licensed psychologist. I created this space to provide individual therapy and group workshops from a humanistic integrative approach.

Let me share a bit about my journey…

In 2015, I completed my degree in Psychology with Sociology at Oxford Brookes University, in England. These studies allowed me to explore the complex interactions between our biology, thoughts, emotions, and human relationships, as well as how they are influenced by our social context. All this, helped me gain an understanding of how these interactions shape our experiences and guide our actions.

After graduating, I wanted to apply my knowledge into real-world settings. I had the opportunity of collaborating on a psychosocial project with indigenous families in the Andes, Peru. This experience gave me the opportunity to see the world through a different cultural lens and taught me the importance of adapting interventions to people’s unique social and cultural realities.

My desire to further explore human nature led me to pursue a Master’s in Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy at the Erich Fromm Institute in Barcelona. I quickly found myself aligned with this approach, which is centred on unconditional acceptance and the belief that human beings have the potential to turn difficulties into opportunities for growth if they are provided with the right environment and tools.

Since then, I have continued my training in various humanistic therapies and other evidence-based psychotherapy models. Today, I work with individuals in one-on-one therapy sessions, helping them navigate their journey towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones, exploring movement and the mind-body connection through contemporary dance, and being in nature.

PUBLICATIONS & CONFERENCES

In 2016, I presented Psychological Mindedness and Social Perspective Taking in Young People at the British Psychological Society conference in Nottingham. This study explored the ability to reflect on one’s own feelings, thoughts, and behaviours— a key process for emotional regulation and the development of healthy interpersonal relationships.

In 2020, I conducted a study titled “Psychological Intervention in Complicated Grief: A Systematic Review”, in which I evaluated the effectiveness of different interventions in the treatment of complicated grief.

In 2022, as part of my Master’s thesis, I conducted research on “A Contextual-Existential Approach to Suicide Prevention.” The study explored how stress, emotional regulation, and a sense of meaning in life influence suicidal behaviour. This research has provided valuable insights into how to effectively support suicide prevention in adolescents and young people.

Currently, I am a member of the Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy working group at the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia. In this context, I recently presented the workshop “The Meaning of Life: Creative Values” at the VIII Conference on Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy in Barcelona (2024).
